Coins With Momentum Upswing
Regardless of trend direction (uptrend or downtrend), prices move in up and down swings. These swings can be captured by MACD, which is a powerful trend and momentum indicator.
This indicator generated BUY signals two days ago for several coins which are now up 10-20%. See SOL example below.
altFINS detects coins with a recent momentum upswing (bullish) using MACD Crossovers.
Simple Trading rules:
- Buy coins with recent bullish MACD Crossover
- Sell when bearish MACD Crossover occurs
SOL: Bullish MACD Crossover
You can find coins with a Fresh MACD crossover under Pre-Set Filters on the Screener:
This signal is slightly delayed versus the “Early Bullish Momentum Inflection” signal, which uses changes in MACD Histogram (we highlighted this indicator in yesterday’s newsletter). Thus, it detects an upswing later.
On the other hand, this signal (MACD Crossover) is less prone to whipsawing. In other words, the upside potential is lower because it catches an upswing later, but it is more accurate.
“Age” refers to a number of time intervals passed since the signal occurred – could be 1-2 days if using 1D time interval, or 1-2 hours if using 1H time interval, etc.
