Argentina's National Securities Commission (CNV) has issued a significant update for Virtual Asset Service Providers (PSAVs) operating within the country. Through a recent resolution, the regulatory body has announced a revision to the deadlines for the 2025 annual fiscalization and control fee, providing adjusted windows for compliance to ensure robust oversight of the burgeoning crypto ecosystem.
Revised Payment Schedule for PSAVs
The CNV, through Resolution General N° 1086, has modified the original payment schedule for the annual fiscalization and control fee for PSAVs, encompassing both individual and corporate entities. For those PSAVs whose registration has not been cancelled by October 15, 2025, and who have not yet submitted their payment, a new window has been established from November 3 to November 7, 2025, inclusive. Additionally, PSAVs that register with the CNV after October 15, 2025, are required to settle the fee within five business days of obtaining their official registration. All payments must be processed via the Sistema de Recaudación de la Administración Pública Nacional e-Recauda platform.
Bolstering Regulatory Framework and User Protection
This adjustment to the payment timeline comes as part of the CNV's ongoing efforts to enhance the regulatory environment for virtual assets in Argentina. The commission had previously approved Resolution General N° 1058 earlier this year, which laid down the foundational regulations for PSAVs. This comprehensive framework aims to guarantee transparency, stability, and robust user protection within the crypto ecosystem. It imposes stringent obligations on PSAVs concerning registration, cybersecurity protocols, asset custody, anti-money laundering (AML) measures, and the clear disclosure of associated risks, underscoring the regulator's commitment to fostering a secure and compliant digital asset landscape.
