Service Disruption for Cosmos (ATOM) on Ledger

Ledger users holding Cosmos (ATOM) are facing a prolonged service disruption that prevents them from managing their assets through the native Ledger Live interface. While the underlying Cosmos Hub network has successfully recovered from a recent technical stall, Ledger’s own data retrieval services remain offline. This has left many users unable to view their current balances or execute transactions, even as the blockchain itself functions normally.

The Disconnect Between Network and Interface

The incident originated on September 8 when the Cosmos Mainnet experienced a temporary stall at block 32,878,318. While infrastructure providers confirmed that the network returned to its normal state and resumed block production shortly thereafter, Ledger’s service path has failed to recover in tandem. This discrepancy means that while the blockchain is processing new data, Ledger’s software is unable to fetch or display it. As of September 13, the company has yet to provide a specific cause for the delay or a definitive timeline for restoration.

Secure Workarounds for ATOM Holders

For users who require urgent access to their funds, the hardware wallet manufacturer suggests using compatible third-party interfaces. Platforms such as Keplr and Cosmostation allow users to connect their physical Ledger devices to manage their ATOM holdings without relying on Ledger Live. This method maintains high security standards by keeping the private keys on the hardware device during the transaction flow. Ledger strongly advises against ever entering a recovery phrase into a computer or smartphone, reminding users that connecting a device to a third-party app is fundamentally different—and safer—than importing a seed phrase.
