The Hyperliquid network is set to welcome its native stablecoin, USDH, following a decisive vote by network validators. Native Markets, a project specifically formed for this purpose, has successfully clinched the coveted USDH ticker, beating out established stablecoin issuers like Ethena, Paxos, and Agora. This pivotal decision paves the way for a new era of stability and reduced value leakage within the Hyperliquid ecosystem.

Native Markets Secures Key Stablecoin Role

Native Markets' triumph stemmed from its compelling proposal, which resonated deeply with HYPE stakers and validator operators. While competitors offered aggressive revenue-sharing models, Native Markets distinguished itself with a meticulously detailed reserve structure, robust compliance safeguards, and the leadership team's profound involvement with the decentralized exchange. The project's formation was directly aimed at addressing Hyperliquid's estimated $200 million in annual value leakage, underscoring its commitment to the network's long-term health.

USDH: Architecture and Compliance

The forthcoming USDH stablecoin will be issued directly on Hyperliquid's HyperEVM network, boasting full backing by US Treasuries and cash. On-chain assets are slated for management by Superstate through Bridge, with off-chain reserves initially overseen by BlackRock. Compliance is a cornerstone of the USDH design, with issuance facilitated via Bridge, which already holds necessary money transmission and MSB licenses in both the US and Europe. Furthermore, revenue generated from the stablecoin reserves will be evenly split, dedicating half to HYPE buybacks and the Assistance Fund, and the other half towards expanding USDH adoption.

Phased Rollout and Future Plans

The deployment of USDH will commence with a strategic, capped testing phase. This initial period will allow traders to mint and redeem tokens in transactions up to $800, providing a controlled environment for refinement. Following successful trials, Native Markets plans to fully open the USDH/USDC spot order book and enable unlimited mints and redemptions. To accommodate institutional demand, the team also intends to make its API available for large-volume traders during testing, ensuring robust liquidity and seamless integration into Hyperliquid’s trading environment from the outset.
