After nearly ten years of operation, the Zcash network has officially moved away from its legacy software implementation. The transition to Zebra, a Rust-based alternative, and the completion of the Zakura node ecosystem represent a strategic shift toward better maintainability and reduced operational risk. By reaching the end-of-support block height in July 2024, node operators have fully embraced a more agile architecture designed to support upcoming network enhancements.

Despite a recently discovered vulnerability in the Orchard shielded pools, network activity suggests that user confidence remains remarkably high. While shielded balances saw a slight decline, private transactions surged by 11.1% and the overall anonymity set expanded significantly. Furthermore, a 33.8% increase in average daily trading volume indicates that the network's utility is growing, proving that Zcash remains a preferred choice for users seeking privacy.
