A Turning Point for Crypto ETFs: Net Inflows Return After Eight Weeks
After a challenging two-month period of persistent redemptions, the US spot Bitcoin ETF market has finally broken its losing streak. Recording nearly $200 million in net inflows last week, the sector is showing signs of stabilization as Bitcoin prices push past the $64,000 mark. This shift suggests that the aggressive "distribution wave" that pressured the market throughout the summer may finally be losing its momentum.
A Resurgence in Investor Interest
The week ending July 10 marked a significant milestone for both Bitcoin and Ethereum investment vehicles. Bitcoin ETFs attracted $197 million across 13 different products, effectively ending an eight-week run of net redemptions that saw more than $8 billion exit the sector. This recovery was mirrored by Ethereum ETFs, which broke their own eight-week streak with $84.42 million in net inflows. Despite some mid-week volatility and brief outflows on Wednesday and Thursday, a strong finish on Friday helped propel the market into positive territory and contributed to a 3% appreciation in Bitcoin's price.
Caution Amidst the Recovery
While the return to positive flows is an encouraging signal, market analysts remain cautious about the sustainability of this trend. Experts from Swissblock and Ecoinometrics suggest that the recent activity represents a slowdown in selling pressure rather than a robust return of institutional conviction. Current accumulation levels remain relatively weak, and observers emphasize that a few days of positive movement are not yet enough to reverse the broader downward trend in cumulative holdings. To confirm a true shift in market sentiment, the sector will likely need several more weeks of consistent inflows to prove that investors are actively rebuilding their exposure.
