Ethereum Price Roadmap for 2026: Bull, Base, and Bear Scenarios Unpacked
Ethereum (ETH) has experienced a turbulent start to 2026, struggling to maintain its footing after a downward trend from the beginning of the year. Despite sinking to a low of $1,743 in February—its weakest point in years—the leading altcoin has managed to consolidate around the crucial $2,000 support level. Market expert Sam Daodu has released a comprehensive report outlining three potential trajectories for the digital asset as it navigates the rest of the year.
The Bullish Path to $7,500
The most optimistic scenario hinges on the successful launch of the "Glamsterdam" upgrade, scheduled for June. This network improvement is expected to slash gas fees by over 78% and boost transaction speeds to 10,000 per second. If this technical milestone coincides with increased Ethereum ETF inflows and Bitcoin breaking above the $90,000 mark, Daodu predicts ETH could surpass $4,000 in the third quarter. In this "bull case," Ethereum could conclude 2026 trading between $5,000 and $7,500.
The Base Case: Steady Consolidation
In a more restrained "base case," the Glamsterdam upgrade is implemented but fails to ignite an immediate market frenzy. Under these conditions, ETF inflows remain positive but slow, and Bitcoin rises toward $85,000 without a decisive breakout. This roadmap suggests Ethereum would steadily clear the $3,000 mark in the third quarter and test $4,000 in the final months of the year, ultimately closing 2026 within a range of $3,000 to $4,200.
The Bear Case: Macro Pressures and Delays
The "bear case" warns of potential setbacks, including technical bugs or delays pushing the Glamsterdam upgrade into late 2026. This scenario is exacerbated by macro pressures, such as hawkish Federal Reserve policies and rising inflation, which could drive Bitcoin below $70,000. If these risks materialize, Ethereum might fail to hold its current support, potentially retesting the February low of $1,743 and ending the year at or below its current price of approximately $2,134.
