YoungHoon Kim, a South Korean individual who claims to possess the world's highest IQ, has recently become a focal point of discussion within the cryptocurrency community. His aggressive and increasingly fervent promotion of XRP, including controversially labeling it a "digital God," has drawn significant attention. However, these claims are overshadowed by widespread skepticism regarding both his proclaimed intelligence and the legitimacy of his related endeavors.
From Bitcoin Maximalist to XRP Evangelist
Kim, previously recognized as a Bitcoin Maximalist, has made a dramatic shift, aggressively promoting XRP. Initially predicting the digital token would reach $100, he has now escalated his rhetoric, describing XRP as a "digital God." This zealous advocacy, deemed by some as "relentless shilling," has started to cause "fatigue" even among dedicated XRP community members, who perceive it as a desperate bid for engagement and attention.
The Unverifiable IQ Claim
At the core of Kim's public persona is his extraordinary claim of a 276 IQ, a figure met with considerable scientific doubt. Experts explain that clinically validated IQ tests typically have a reliable maximum around 160. An IQ of 276 is considered mathematically impossible to validate, as accurately measuring such an extreme score would necessitate a norming group larger than the total number of humans who have ever lived, rendering it scientifically indefensible.
Accusations of Fraud and Imposture
Further undermining his credibility, Kim faces serious accusations regarding his creation of the "Giga Society Professional." Paul Cooijmans, founder of the legitimate Giga Society which honors individuals with 1-in-a-billion intelligence, has publicly denounced Kim's organization as "fraudulent" and branded Kim an "impostor." Moreover, a former chairperson of Mensa Korea reportedly stated that Kim's score within Mensa was not deemed "special" by the organization's standards, directly contradicting his claims of unparalleled intellectual prowess.
