Zebec Network (ZBCN) is a Solana token that functions as the native gas token of the Zebec Network, a real-time payment-streaming platform.
The platform enables continuous payroll streaming, a multi-chain debit card program (Zebec Card), and a "SuperApp" that consolidates streaming payroll, card management, and staking across ten blockchains. ZBCN is the successor to the earlier ZBC token, from which it migrated in 2024.
Zebec Network ties token demand to measurable payment activity rather than speculation alone, funding an ongoing ZBCN buyback with platform revenue.
Its payroll-streaming product reported monthly volume of approximately $43 million as of June 2025, and the Zebec Card processed roughly $52 million in a rolling four-week period across about 11,900 issued cards in 97 countries. Revenue from payroll, card, and partner contracts funds the buyback program, linking real usage to token supply reduction.
ZBCN is both a utility and governance token: it pays network gas fees and lets holders vote on ecosystem proposals in proportion to their holdings.
Beyond fee payment and voting, ZBCN can be staked through Zebec's SuperApp, which integrates staking alongside payroll streaming and multi-chain card management in a single interface.
ZBCN has a maximum and total supply of 100,000,000,000 tokens, with circulating supply of approximately 99,998,774,105 tokens as of 2026-09-01, effectively fully circulating.
Since that unlock, Zebec describes the token as operating under a deflationary, buyback-funded supply framework rather than continued inflationary emission.
ZBCN launched via a 1:10 migration from the earlier ZBC token, carried out during a swap window from April 10 to May 10, 2024. The migration preserved ZBC's vesting and lock-up schedules without creating new supply.
The ZBCN token was deployed on-chain on 2024-03-28, and the underlying Zebec project was founded in 2021. Zebec has raised approximately $29.5 million across five funding rounds from 35 investors, including a $15 million Series A led by Solana Ventures at a $150 million valuation in February 2022, with investors also including Circle, Coinbase, and Breyer Capital.
ZBCN is deployed natively on Solana, the blockchain that hosts its mint and transaction activity.
Zebec does not operate its own blockchain or validator set; it relies entirely on Solana's existing validator network to order, validate, and settle transactions.
Zebec Network was founded in 2021 by Sam (Sambhab) Thapaliya, a Nepalese entrepreneur, who serves as CEO.
Sajjan Thapaliya is credited as co-founder, involved in business strategy and operations. Backers named across Zebec's funding rounds include Circle, Coinbase, Solana Ventures, Breyer Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Republic Capital, among others.
Zebec Network is developed and maintained by the Zebec project team under the Zebec Network and Zebec Protocol brand names.
The project maintains a presence across multiple jurisdictions, including the United States and India, a structure common among crypto-native projects rather than a single centralized headquarters.
ZBCN functions as a governance token, with holders able to vote on network and ecosystem proposals in proportion to the amount of ZBCN they hold.
Zebec describes its governance as a hybrid model: informal off-chain consultation among community members, investors, and partners precedes binding on-chain proposal votes, rather than governance operating as a purely on-chain DAO.
Zebec's 2026 roadmap centers on institutional payment infrastructure, including seedless hardware wallets, stablecoin integration, and compliance alignment.
Zebec has undergone multiple CertiK audits, most recently completed 2024-03-30, earning a CertiK Security Score of 88.75 (AA rating) with zero critical findings.
The most recent audit, covering the Zebec Wormhole Program, found one major issue (centralization/privilege-escalation risk, acknowledged but not resolved) alongside resolved medium, minor, and informational findings. Halborn, Trail of Bits, and Bramah Systems have also audited Zebec contracts, and an Immunefi bug bounty is active. Separately, on-chain liquidity is thin relative to market capitalization, and holder concentration is elevated relative to peer tokens.
