Telcoin (TEL) is a blockchain-based remittance and financial-services token issued on Ethereum (ERC-20), with bridged deployments on Polygon, Base, and Arbitrum. Telcoin Group, headquartered in Singapore, built the token to enable low-cost mobile money transfers through partnerships with mobile network operators (MNOs), and was the first blockchain company admitted to the GSMA, the global mobile-operator trade association, in 2018.
The company is separately building an EVM-compatible Layer-1, "Telcoin Network," alongside a Nebraska-chartered digital asset bank subsidiary.
Telcoin's differentiation is its telecom-operator validator model: Telcoin Network, its emerging Layer-1, restricts validation exclusively to GSMA mobile-network-operator members under a Proof-of-Stake consensus Telcoin brands POSA.
TEL captures this differentiation directly: validators stake TEL to participate and earn TEL-denominated gas fees and issuance for block production. Telcoin Digital Asset Bank, a Nebraska-chartered subsidiary, launched U.S.-regulated on-chain bank accounts tied to its eUSD stablecoin on June 23, 2026, with claimed Federal Reserve payment-system access, positioned as a differentiator versus other stablecoin models.
TEL functions as both a utility and governance-linked token. On the forthcoming Telcoin Network, GSMA-member validators stake TEL to run Proof-of-Stake nodes, earning TEL-denominated gas fees and newly issued TEL for block production, with voting power in "Miner Groups" weighted by TEL staked.
Telcoin has a fixed total supply of 100 billion TEL.
Net emission is inflationary on the forthcoming Telcoin Network, where validators earn newly issued TEL as block rewards; Telcoin's token supply inflation is currently rated medium.
Telcoin's public ICO ran December 12–31, 2017, raising $25 million by selling 25 billion TEL (25% of the fixed 100 billion supply) at $0.0001 per token.
A subsequent Pre-Series A round in July 2021 raised an additional $10 million. The current Ethereum smart contract was deployed January 28, 2020, a migration from Telcoin's original 2018 contract, distinct from the company's 2017 founding year and the ICO date.
Telcoin (TEL) is issued as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, its canonical chain, and is also bridged to Polygon, Base, and Arbitrum.
Telcoin is separately building its own EVM-compatible Layer-1, "Telcoin Network," using a Proof-of-Stake variant it brands POSA, in which validation is restricted exclusively to GSMA mobile-network-operator members. Its "Adiri" testnet launched in December 2025, with mainnet targeted for Q1 2026.
Telcoin was co-founded by Paul Neuner, who serves as CEO and Chairperson. Prior to Telcoin, Neuner founded and led Mobius Wireless Solutions, building telecom revenue-assurance and fraud-management software for mobile network operators.
Other named executives include Richard Kay (VP, Global Compliance), Tim Mahota (General Counsel), and Patrick Gerhart (President of Banking Operations); Telcoin's leadership team reportedly comprises 14 executives in total.
Telcoin Group, headquartered in Singapore, develops and maintains the Telcoin platform. Its Singapore entity is licensed there as a Major Payment Institution, with subsidiaries registered as a virtual-asset service provider in Lithuania and as money-services businesses in the United States, Canada, and Australia.
Telcoin Digital Asset Bank, a Nebraska state-chartered subsidiary, is the first Digital Asset Depository Institution chartered under Nebraska's Financial Innovation Act, with final charter approval reported around November 2025.
Telcoin Platform governance runs through the Telcoin Association, a Swiss Verein (non-profit association) domiciled in Lugano, Switzerland, which allows GSMA mobile-network-operator "miners" to self-govern.
Two bodies oversee decisions: the Platform Council, holding system-wide policy authority, and the Treasury Council, which controls the TEL Treasury, the TEL token contract, and governance infrastructure. Proposals are submitted and approved through the TELIP (Telcoin Improvement Proposal) process, funded from the Association's Treasury Safe.
Telcoin's "Adiri" testnet for Telcoin Network launched in December 2025, with mainnet targeted for Q1 2026.
CertiK completed an audit of Telcoin's Stablecoin.sol contract on June 15, 2022, using static analysis, manual review, and formal verification of 71 of 76 properties. The audit found 7 issues (4 Major, 1 Minor, 2 Informational, zero Critical or Medium), all acknowledged by the team.
CertiK's Skynet score for Telcoin currently stands at 84.91 (Grade A). No active bug bounty program is listed. The top 10 wallet addresses hold approximately 53% of TEL's circulating supply, a concentration figure that likely includes treasury and vesting-related wallets.
