Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (FET), formerly Fetch.ai and also labeled "ASI Alliance" or "Fetch" in token metadata, is the token created by merging three independent decentralized-AI projects. The original projects—Fetch.ai, SingularityNET, and Ocean Protocol—were later joined by CUDOS as a compute partner. The token is deployed as an ERC-20 asset on Ethereum, with bridged copies on BNB Smart Chain and Cardano that are not the canonical asset. The Alliance builds infrastructure for autonomous AI agents, decentralized AGI networks, and decentralized compute and data exchange.
The Alliance's value proposition is consolidating three separate decentralized-AI token economies into one asset to concentrate liquidity, developer effort, and governance. It spans agent communication (Fetch.ai), decentralized AGI infrastructure (SingularityNET), and compute (CUDOS) under a single token. A dedicated Layer-1, ASI:Chain, is in development to use FET as native gas, differentiating the project from single-purpose DeFi or data tokens.
FET functions as a utility token rather than a pure governance token, used to pay for agent transactions and services on the Fetch.ai network. Holders can stake FET through mechanisms such as the "dutchStaking" and "simpleStakePool" contracts, and the token is designated as the intended native gas for the in-development ASI:Chain Layer-1. Alliance-level governance authority sits mainly with the Superintelligence Collective council rather than with direct on-chain FET-holder voting.
FET has a maximum supply of approximately 2,719,493,897 tokens and a total on-chain supply of about 2,714,384,546.67 tokens. Circulating supply is approximately 2,261,507,898.81 FET as of 2026-08-31, roughly 83% of max supply.
The gap between circulating and maximum supply means additional tokens are still scheduled to enter circulation, making net emission inflationary until the supply cap is reached.
Fetch.ai, the project's predecessor, raised approximately $16.27 million across three SAFT rounds in 2018 (contributions of $5,882,233, $9,083,101, and $1,301,508). The token launched publicly via a Binance Launchpad IEO on 2019-02-25, priced at $0.0867 per FET, selling 69,204,152 FET for approximately $6,000,000 and reportedly selling out in about 10 seconds.
The Ethereum token contract was deployed later, on 2020-10-05 — after both the 2018 funding rounds and the 2019 IEO.
FET is deployed as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, which runs proof-of-stake consensus. Bridged implementation copies exist on BNB Smart Chain and on Cardano (Ouroboros proof-of-stake), but neither is the canonical asset.
Dr. Ben Goertzel serves as CEO of the Alliance. He also founded SingularityNET, coined the term "Artificial General Intelligence" in a 2005 book, and has authored more than 25 books and 150 research papers.
Humayun Sheikh chairs the Alliance's Superintelligence Collective governing council; he founded Fetch.ai in 2017 and was an early investor in DeepMind. Dr. Trent McConaghy, co-founder of Ocean Protocol, was one of three founding leaders of the original three-way merger, but the Ocean Protocol Foundation withdrew from the Alliance in October 2025.
FET is issued and governed under Superintelligence Alliance (Singapore) Ltd, the legal entity formed by three merging decentralized-AI projects. Fetch.ai, SingularityNET, and Ocean Protocol combined their tokens under this entity, later joined by CUDOS as a compute partner in 2024. Following the Ocean Protocol Foundation's October 2025 withdrawal, the Alliance's active members are Fetch.ai, SingularityNET, and CUDOS.
The Alliance uses a federated governance model, in which a cross-project Superintelligence Collective council oversees alliance-wide strategic decisions. The council is chaired by Humayun Sheikh, while each member organization retains operational autonomy over its own technical roadmap. On 2025-10-09, the Ocean Protocol Foundation announced its immediate withdrawal from this structure, resigning its directors and membership in Superintelligence Alliance (Singapore) Ltd amid governance disputes, which led to subsequent litigation over token handling.
A public DevNet for ASI:Chain, a custom AI-agent-oriented Layer-1 with a blockDAG architecture, launched in November 2025. A TestNet is planned for 2026, with mainnet targeted for late 2026 or early 2027 using FET as native gas.
The 2026 roadmap also includes the ASI:One agentic platform, the ASI-1 family of Web3-native large language models, and ASI:Cloud, a decentralized compute offering.
CertiK has audited Fetch.ai-related smart contracts five times, most recently in 2021; one audit of the "dutchStaking" and "simpleStakePool" staking contracts found them structurally sound with a 100% security score. Across all audits, 34 findings were logged, including 4 critical and 7 medium issues, all of which were resolved. These audits predate the 2024 token merger and ASI rebrand, and no audit specific to the post-merger contract or ASI:Chain has been identified.
Structural risk: the top 10 wallets hold 47% of circulating supply as of 2026-08-31, and on-chain liquidity relative to market capitalization is rated low.
