BNB Attestation Service (BAS) is a Web3 identity and attestation infrastructure protocol deployed on BNB Smart Chain (BSC / "bnb" chain) as a BEP-20 token.
Its contract was deployed on 2025-07-14. The protocol issues on-chain and off-chain attestations — records covering identity/KYC data, centralized-exchange trading history, social accounts such as LinkedIn, GitHub and Uber, and on-chain reputation, with some data stored on BNB Greenfield. Its explorer/verification front-end is branded BASCAN.
BAS applies its attestation infrastructure to four specific sectors: real-world-asset proof-of-ownership, reputation for autonomous AI agents, reputation-weighted prediction markets, and Sybil-resistant IDO participation.
The project reports processing more than 1.4 million total attestations to date across identity, exchange, and social data sources, a self-reported adoption metric. The BAS token captures this activity as the fee unit paid for protocol attestation services.
BAS functions as a utility token rather than a governance token: it is used to pay protocol service fees for issuing and verifying attestations within the BAS ecosystem.
Holders interact with it primarily by spending BAS on attestation-related services, including identity/KYC checks, exchange and social-account verification, and newer AI-agent identity verification through the "Agent Passport" feature, rather than through staking, collateral, or on-chain voting.
Reported allocation includes 70% of total supply (7,000,000,000 BAS) earmarked for community airdrops and 600,000,000 BAS (6%) for a Booster Campaign rewards pool. Token-supply inflation is currently assessed as low, consistent with the fixed 10B cap.
BAS launched through an IDO on Binance Wallet on 2025-07-17 at $0.001 per token, raising $200,000 by selling 200,000,000 BAS (2% of supply).
Subscription was capped at 3 BNB per wallet with pro-rata allocation, and the token contract itself was deployed on 2025-07-14, three days before the IDO. Trading began on Binance Wallet on 2025-08-19 at 06:00 UTC; no pre-IDO private or seed funding round took place.
BAS is deployed as a single BEP-20 token on BNB Smart Chain (BSC / "bnb" chain), and does not operate its own blockchain or validator set.
The protocol additionally stores attestation records off-chain on BNB Greenfield, BNB Chain's decentralized data-storage layer, rather than through a separate consensus system of its own.
BAS's team is anonymous or pseudonymous, with no founders, key backers, or public team roster named in project materials.
Its GitHub organization lists no public members, has 27 followers across 16 repositories, and provides only a generic administrative contact address. CertiK's Skynet review lists the team's verification status as "Not Verified."
BAS presents as a decentralized, community-oriented BNB Chain ecosystem infrastructure project rather than a named corporate issuer.
Development activity is associated with the project's open-source GitHub organization and its BASCAN attestation-explorer brand, reachable via the official site bnbattest.io.
BAS has no on-chain or off-chain governance mechanism, such as DAO voting, a governance forum, or a multisig-controlled treasury process.
BAS has not undergone a completed third-party smart-contract audit and has no active bug bounty program; CertiK lists its team verification status as "Not Verified."
CertiK's Skynet aggregate project score is 81.87 (Grade A), listed since 2025-07-16, and the contract is marked verified and not flagged as spam. CertiK separately reports high token concentration, with 54.93% of supply held by its top 168 holders, alongside thin daily trading volume relative to market cap.
